Getting fit doesn’t have to be complicated. Simple bodyweight exercises can be a great choice for achieving gains in strength, flexibility, and overall health. Best of all, they don’t cost a thing and you can usually do them just about anywhere. Even prisoners do it, because of the limited space and facilities. I hope you never have to get there to practice, but it shows how simple and effective it is. You might remember Iron Mike. Mike Tyson in 1995 after three years in Prison was more fit than ever, also due to bodyweight training.

You might think, hey I am not a first class boxer, and either not stay in prison? Or that training just using the own bodyweight might be efficient, with a lot of repeatation needed. That are some of the myth about bodyweight training.

In fact the training can be modified for whatever fitness level you are. Whether you’re starting at zero and trying to do one push-up or you’re an experienced athlete; bodyweight exercises can be incredibly challenging and beneficial. 

The exercises are very straightforward, so you can keep challenging yourself and building strength.

The movements involved in bodyweight training can help to increase that mobility and challenge the bodies stabilizer by using complete movements.

Bodyweight exercises get results partly because they involve compound movements. There are numerous joints and muscles engaged in each move. Compound exercises such as push-ups and lunges have been shown to be extremely effective for strength gains and performance improvements.
